We saw a sloth! heck yeah! Actually we saw two. One was super close. According to the tour guide leader (we didnt take the tour, but were eavesdropping) they only climb down once a week to go to the bathroom. When we saw him, he was about three feet above the ground, about two feet off the trail. Oh yeah, did I mention that it was a three-toed sloth? No big deal.
We also saw lizards, butterflies -- including a giant iridescent blue fellow, a family of raccoons, three types of monkeys, birds, a big old scary spider, crabs, hermit crabs, and ok.. it was a kick @$$ nature walk!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we crossed a bridge to get here that sheltered about thirty gigantic crocodiles. I would guess that the big guy down there is at least 15 ft long.
So verdict: You want to see some animals in nature? Go to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.
